In Cold Blood

It was the strangest thing that day. A young girl came up to me and had asked,

“Who would be the most likely to marry you.”

“Where?”

I had asked.

“On campus.”

I in fact being the happiest girl on this planet wanted to tell her so I did.

“Albert or Nikk, one or thee other.”

She started laughing at the very mention of Nikk.

“Nikk? Really? are you serious?”

She had asked.

“Alright…. Albert.

I said on the college campus. His name was breathtaking and it made me feel so very whole.

“Tell me about him.”

She said.

“He doesn’t like to be kept a secret by me and he doesn’t like to share, and he doesn’t like to share me.”

She was looking off into the distance, eyes wide.

“He likes to kill things. In his head. He’s like mom. But he’s not like my mother he’s like both mom and dad; my mom and dad in a protective way.”

I added quickly.

She then stalked off.

The only thing I didn’t tell her is that he kills people. And he’d kill for me.

For you see I understood him in a way that not all girls understood him and I loved his dark side meaning to say I loved him at his dirtiest. No matter how much he killed. No matter who he killed I had damned defended him and he defeated my fears. Each and every one.

A few years later….
No, I ‘d mutter to myself…..

It had to be….
